Robert Agee jumped into the Manhattan brokerage business in 1985 by selling a Tribeca building to a small trucking company. From there he started leasing office space in midtown and downtown representing corporate tenants in their negotiations with landlords.
He was the exclusive broker for, among others, The New York Press and RD Smith, America's largest investment bank in the 1980's for "Vulture Bonds."
Previous to that he formed and headed up a successful training and consulting company, Robert Agee Associates, which worked with Advertising Agencies and Sales Organizations to generate new clients and sales. He saw the need for such a company largely out of his experience as a vice-president account manager with major advertising agencies; J Walter Thompson, Doyle Dane Bernbach and Needham Harper & Steers and his sales and marketing experience with Procter & Gamble and Colgate.
In the 1990's he took a break from real estate to try his hand at writing action-adventure screenplays until one day with Stun Grenade clarity he realized that he was not a threat to Tom Clancy.
In 2001 he returned to real estate brokerage – with an emphasis on downtown residential - with Carol Quatrone Realty. Since then he has sold buildings, condos, coops (and rented them) as fast as he could, primarily in the West Village, Greenwich Village, Tribeca, Soho, Little Italy and Chelsea. He is an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
